Rend Helm: 1/5 -1, I never used it much, if I needed the helm i would steal, if not the HP wasn't a huge wall Here is my take on it, I like reading these keep them up!

Overall I like the idea of the Knight but feel the job could use some more actual attacks (like the Knight variants get in FFTA2) instead of all abilities being equipment/stat destroyers and allowing other jobs to equip their gear (most of these could be spread out to other jobs where they fit thematically). It becomes more or less useless the longer you play.Īgain, this feels like a skill that is only useful in certain instances and doesn't deserve high points. It's useful if you need a mage alive but useless (they try to hit you with their sticks but it doesn't hurt too much) like when grinding JPs. As always, discussion and opinions are welcome! Paired with a high evasion % cloak, they become extremely slippery.Įquip Swords: 4/5 Mostly because it's the only way to keep Agrias trained in other classes while still allowing her to use her Holy Sword abilities.Īnd that wraps up another edition of Let's Rate Abilities. It's not great for Knights, but your mages can put it to good use, as staves and rods have very high evasion %.Įquip Heavy Armor: 4/5 A great option in the early game for beefing up a unit's HP before you start getting clothes and hats that boost your statistics.Įquip Shields: 3/5 I actually have used this ability in quite a few of my playthroughs and found it to be rather effective, especially for units with low natural evasion (mages, chemists, etc). Parry: 3/5 A pretty damn good reaction ability for the cost. Rend Speed: 3/5 Great for JP grinding, decent in real battles too. Rend MP: 1/5 Why destroy an enemy mage's MP when you could just kill them instead? Rend Weapon: 4/5 Very useful in a few key battles, can gimp some enemy units' skillsets entirely. Rend Shield: 3/5 Can be useful for taking down enemy Knights (which this game has TONS of) more quickly.

They can also tank damage well and can actually carry magic as a secondary skillset surprisingly effectively, since their MA and MP are pretty great for a physical unit. Its usefulness does start to decline towards the mid game until you begin to pick up the powerful Knight Swords at the end of the game which no other generic class can equip. The Knight is a powerful unit who is useful the moment you switch into the job and equip it with a sword and armor.
